Broccoli, Cauliflower & Sausage Gratin

I picked up some broccoli and Riverview Farms ground sausage at the Morningside Market and had a few bits of cauliflower left over from the Hurry Curry Cauliflower. The result was something pretty delicious.

3 large broccoli heads, florets and stalks, cut into bite-size pieces
3 tablespoons butter
1 small onion, finely chopped
1 teaspoon minced garlic
2/3 cup sour cream
1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Salt and pepper

That is a basic recipe I found online. I don’t really follow directions that well and always tweak or add something extra.
In this case I used broccoli and cauliflower and topped my gratin with a little sausage.
Give the broccoli and cauliflower a quick steam to soften it.
Saute the butter, onion and garlic until caramelized and stir in sour cream and cheese.
Put veggies in a baking dish and top with the onion cheese mixture.
Add sausage and extra parmesan to the top and broil until it browns a bit.
Pretty sure that’s what I did….

I am obsessed with Riverview Farms Sausage.

There isn’t a final photo because we pigged out. I have to get better about snapping pictures.
