ON THE BAR * BLUEBERRY SMASH

I’m clearly on a kick with the muddled fruit cocktails. This one is just as easy as the last and tasty with mint or basil. You can really use any combination of fresh berries, but I had blueberries on hand.

Muddle a sprig of herb, a mini handful of blueberries, lemon or lime wedge,
and a tbsp. of  sweetener (agave, simple syrup, or raw sugar).
Add vodka and strain into a new glass if desired.
Fill with ice, stir, then top with more ice
and splash with club soda if desired.

I think I’ll mix up another version tonight for the parents and share next week!

ON THE BAR * DRINK SEASONALY

Pretty packaging goes a long way. Just as I’m drawn to a well designed wine label the label on Victory Brewing Company’s Summer Love Ale caught my eye.

Swimsuits, fishing, ice cream, fireworks, baseball… this label IS summer.

Summer Love Ale from Victory Brewing Company is full of tasty hops with a burst of lemon flavor. This seasonal brew is around from May until August, but in the other months a Golden Monkey (my favorite) will hit the spot.

Hell or High Watermelon from 21st Amendment Brewery is a seasonal wheat beer brewed with WATERMELON. This refreshing, not too sweet brew is available April through September so find it quick!

ON THE BAR * CHERRY SMASH

4 cherries
a sprig of mint
a sprinkle of sugar or agave
vodka
squeeze of  lime juice
top with club soda

muddle the first three then add the rest and enjoy!

ON THE BAR * VODKA TOMATOES

What you need:

carton of small cherry tomatoes
lemon vodka
tasty salt – I’m using truffle salt from Beautiful Briny Sea

Rinse your tomatoes and poke each one with a toothpick (or don’t)…
Toss the tomatoes in a bowl and fill with vodka.
Let them soak overnight or for just a few hours if you can’t wait.
Dip in salt and enjoy!

The perfect boozy snack for on the boat, pool side or your next party…

ON THE BAR } SMASHED BLUEBERRIES & MINT

Take advantage of fresh summer fruits by muddling them into a drink or two!
I had blueberries leftover from the mini pies and mint taking over the front porch so I decided to make muddle the two.

What you will need:

A Sprig of Mint
A few Blueberries
Touch of Agave (or regular sugar or none at all)
Lemon Vodka
Club Soda

Muddle the first 3 then add the rest with ice of course!
